Contemporary Portable Car Chairs

The Took is a Portable Chair for Roadside Breaks

The Took is a portable chair for roadside breaks designed to support car-based outdoor activities with components made from recycled automotive materials. Created by Jimin Nam, Donggwan Heo, and 민석 김, the concept repurposes discarded airbags and seatbelts into a seating surface that gives the materials a second function after a vehicle reaches the end of its life. The chair stores inside a compact carrying case with a strap handle and unfolds using a one-touch hinge mechanism, allowing users to set it up quickly for short stops, scenic viewpoints, or outdoor rest during everyday drives and road trips.

The concept is accompanied by a digital driving interface called "Play Your Drive," which visualizes driving behavior and energy recovery through animated graphics to encourage more efficient vehicle operation. Took also includes accessories such as a multifunctional carabiner key holder that complements its mobility-focused ecosystem.
