Drawing inspiration from David Lean's 1946 adaptation of Great Expectations, the Marchesa Fall 2011 collection has an elegant, yet romantic nature to it.

Predominant throughout the collection is a significant amount of lace. As the label itself it known for adding a bit of sparkle to each of its artistic creations, this season the crystals on each of the gowns “have been dulled with powder.” The reason for this is to convey an image of a “dusty bride who sat in her dress forever.”

The gowns themselves are breathtakingly beautiful and showcase the true craftsmanship of the brand. Featuring floor-length feathered frocks to dreamy lace inspired gowns, intricate 3-dimenstional dresses to shorter numbers with extraordinary detailing, the Marchesa Fall 2011 collection manages to take fashion to the highest possible level and deliver stunning results.
