This year, Dr. Martens celebrates its 60th anniversary and the most recent launch showcases the 1460 boot silhouette once again. It is designed in collaboration with Raf Simons and marks the third collaboration with the designer. The shoe boasts a punk-inspired look as Simons explains that the influence is directly derived from the London punk culture.
When speaking to W Magazine, the designer states that "the rings are a referral to the rings we used in our spring 2019 collection — that collection was very much inspired by the London club scene, more specifically at that time when punk transformed into New Wave.” The uppers are complete in black leather detailed with nickel rings before featuring co-branded logos on the ankle cuff.
