The TD-1 turntable by Ruka Studio reimagines vinyl playback through a vertically mounted belt-drive system that can be installed on a wall or paired with a freestanding floor stand. An aluminum chassis houses tactile mechanical switches and rotary controls for playback, speed adjustment and Bluetooth pairing, while wired audio outputs support connection to hi-fi systems. A rubber-coated magnetic plate secures records against the acrylic platter, creating the appearance of a floating disc during playback. The motor is decoupled from the platter to minimize vibration and improve playback stability.
The turntable supports swappable moving-magnet cartridges, allowing users to replace the cartridge without changing the player. A built-in spirit level assists with accurate installation for vertical mounting, while Bluetooth connectivity enables wireless audio streaming to compatible speakers and earbuds without replacing the analog control interface. The TD-1 is available for preorder with a refundable $100 reservation ahead of its planned 2027 release.
