TASCHEN and Louis Vuitton Chronicle the Legacy of the America’s Cup

— July 17, 2025 — Lifestyle
TASCHEN and Louis Vuitton unite to celebrate sailing history with the release of 'The America’s Cup,' a trio of exclusive publications tracing the evolution of the world’s oldest international sports competition. From its 1851 origins to this year’s Louis Vuitton 37th America’s Cup, the richly illustrated volumes offer rare photographs, technical drawings, and firsthand accounts.

Designed by Marc Newson, the editions include a carbon-fiber bookstand and a sail-fabric cover with a custom Louis Vuitton metal closure. Edited by sports journalist Pino Allievi, the project marks TASCHEN’s first maritime-focused publication and captures 170+ years of bold innovation on the seas.

This collaboration enhances both brands' cultural capital -- positioning TASCHEN as a luxury publisher in the sporting world and reinforcing Louis Vuitton’s deep association with travel, heritage, and elite competitions. The collectible nature of the editions also opens premium revenue streams in the art-book and yachting enthusiast markets.
