'RoboCop' Runways

The Talbot Runhof Fall/Winter 2010 Collection Comes with Plastic Armor

The Talbot Runhof Fall/Winter 2010 collection is clearly influenced by the ballet costumes they designed for the Dortmund Opera House in 2009. Tutu-like tulles explode from the hip in a mass of pleated and draped satin. Futuristic sci-fi accessories by conceptual designer Amy Thompson completed the look.

Amy Thompson’s polypropylene structures fit over the garments, their matte plastic finish at odds with the overall cocktail glamour. Plastic vambraces and gauntlets reference traditional armour and the aesthetic of 'RoboCop.' See more from the Talbot Runhof Fall/Winter 2010 collection above.
