SuanNutra, a global provider of science-backed branded and functional ingredients and a portfolio company of Carbyne Equity Partners, has signed an agreement to acquire a portfolio of specialty natural ingredients businesses from IFF. This move merges the incoming operations with SuanNutra's existing structure to form an enlarged group focused on clinically supported natural ingredients.
The transaction, expected to close by the end of 2026 pending regulatory approvals, brings an expanded range of specialty natural ingredients businesses — from backed branded ingredient and botanical extraction capabilities at source in Spain, Slovenia, and Peru to fermentation-based production in the United States and a portfolio of plant-derived natural colors, antioxidants, and flavors.
The combined entity will employ approximately 700 people and serve more than 1200 customers across over 60 countries, with a strategic emphasis on both nutraceutical science and food-enhancement ingredients.
