You won't truly realize how flimsy your tape dispenser or pencil cup is until you have seen 'Solid' from Magnus Pettersen. Solid is a simple set of desk accessories made entirely out of concrete.
Solid consists of a tape dispenser, pencil cup and what looks to be a soap dish/paperclip holder. The entire set definitely has the ability to spark a conversation in any office.
Unconventional concrete designs have been on the rise recently, with designers using the tough stuff to build a variety of items from furniture to flash drives. It would be interesting to see a designer release an entire line of everyday items cast in concrete.
