Samsung's Solar Cell Remote Control Takes a Sustainable Route
Samsung introduces the Solar Cell Remote Control during CES 2021 and it showcases an eco-friendly approach to technology. The control can be powered by both outdoor and indoor lighting, making it versatile. In addition to this, it can also be charged using a simple USB if there is lack of lighting.
Samsung states that the remote itself is made from “recycled polyethylene terephtalate" to form 31 grams of plastic. This material makes up 24% of the materials to reduce waste. The tech company also states that this is part of a mission to prevent waste that is caused by a projected 99 million AAA batteries over the course of seven years. In alignment with this, the company is taking steps to elevate its eco-friendly packaging options this year.
