Marine Layer Has Engineered the Softest T-Shirt You'll Find Off the Rack

Mike Natenshon sacrificed a year of his time and $40,000 of his credit to create the comfiest, softest t-shirt you can imagine.

Most of us have a favorite t-shirt. It's our favorite because we've worn it so often that we've worn it to the perfect form and texture. That was the case for Natenshon, too; at least, until his girlfriend accidentally threw his favorite t-shirt out. Then he had to get creative. Enter Natenshon's experimentation phase, which ended with him founding Marine Layer, a company which uses a custom blend of pima cotton and MicroModal (a material that's 95% recycled beech wood) to create supremely comfortable garments.

The best part? The super-comfortable custom fabric has a very small environmental footprint. Made locally in California, the t-shirts look great, feel great and are very socially responsible.
