'NoPhoneZone' is a new app that encourages users to disconnect from their phones through the power of social media shaming. Unlike other digital detox apps, NoPhoneZone lets the world know when you can't keep your hands off your smartphone.

The app encourages you to take a break from their phone by sending a tweet to your Twitter followers that you are officially offline. The app will then begin a timer that monitors how long you are able to go without using your phone. If you happen to break your offline pact, the app will automatically send a tweet telling your followers exactly how long you lasted without your phone.

The idea behind the app is that the fear of social media shaming will provide added encouragement to stay away from your phone and disconnect for a few hours.
