Smashbox x Ilka, a Mexico City-based accessories brand, has teamed up for an exclusive, limited-edition collection, marking Smashbox’s first foray into the fashion world. This collaboration combines Ilka’s renowned handbag designs and Smashbox’s signature aesthetics, celebrating a cross-cultural fusion of beauty and style.

The partnership blossomed after Smashbox brand leaders Felix Backhaus and Lauren Aja were captivated by Mexico City’s dynamic creative scene. Their June visit included a Sephora masterclass with actress Ela Velden, where they discovered Ilka’s unique artistry. Inspired by the city’s vibrant culture, the brands created a four-piece collection of handbags featuring Smashbox’s bold branding and Ilka’s signature fringe accents.

Previewed at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Mexico City, the launch event on October 18 drew luminaries like Grettell Valdez and Ana Paula Capetillo. Co-founder Rosine Kalach shared her excitement, highlighting the seamless blend of beauty and fashion, which captivated guests and influencers alike.
