Samsung Announced New SmartThings Capabilities at CES 2020

Samsung announced at CES 2020 that the SmartThings app will now have the ability to connect to the user's car. According to Samsung, the app will be compatible with the majority of new cars in the United States. Connecting the SmartThings app to a car will give users a number of different abilities including lock and unlock functions, as well as location tracking, and fuel or battery checks.

The SmartThings app already has over 50 million users, which means that the new integration could be immediately popular among users of the app.

The ability to connect the SmartThings app to the user's car is the result of collaborative efforts between Samsung and Smartcar, which makes SmartThings the first-ever smart home platform that can be integrated with the user's car.
