Sony's Smart B-Trainer Talks You Through Your Workout

Sony unveiled the Smart B-Trainer, a performance-enhancing headset designed for runners, at CES 2015.

The waterproof device is equipped with built-in memory, allowing the wearer to record, store and play voice coaching or music during their run. The headset, which loops around the back of the wearer's head for convenience, offers support by automatically selecting tracks that complement the user's heart rate, or speaking to them encouragingly.

Outfitted with fitness sensors, this motivational headset is attempting to displace smartwatches and fitness bands. Like its competitors, the Smart B-Trainer keeps a log of workouts and progress. However, it's also able to guide users to their goals using predetermined training sessions geared towards goals such as burning fat or improving endurance.
