While micro-sized dwellings used to be inhabited by only some of the most passionate environmentalists, the tiny house movement is showing the average person how practical, affordable, portable and super sustainable small homes can be.
This movement is becoming so widespread, Canada is now hosting its first ever Tiny House Festival in Lantier, Québec.
One of the biggest obstacles that prevents tiny homes from being adopted are legal issues concerning where these houses are stationed. As the municipality of Lantier recently approved the development of homes under 1,000 square feet in size, this was the perfect place for the Tiny House Festival to be launched. In the coming months and years, Lantier could become a hub that leads the way in small-scale eco-friendly housing.
