Hawaiian-Inspired Slow Cooker Concepts

Julian Koebbe Designs the New Slow Cooker Concept

Julian Koebbe is the creative mind behind the new slow cooker concept, which is developed with inspiration from traditional Hawaiian underground pit cooking. Slow cookers themselves are a modern appliance, but the concept is not new at all. The Hawaiian people had a tradition of burying and covering large amounts of food in a put to cook. It creates a communal experience and feeds a large number of people.

It is specifically inspired by the 'Imu' underground oven pits, and the slow cooker design is also tweaked with some elements that make the process more convenient and meaningful. This is translated through elements such as the separate section for the actual cooker, which allows users to lift the hot pot away safely and prepare the food.
