Corporate Skin-Care Initiatives

Beiersdorf Launches the Skin Care Innovation Fund

Beiersdorf launched a second-generation Skin Care Innovation Fund, committing €100m to back start-ups in life sciences, biotechnology, sustainability, AI and digital health for skin. The fund, first introduced in 2020, was expanded to accelerate technologies and product concepts that intersect rigorous science with consumer skin-care needs.

The updated vehicle will target early-stage firms developing longevity science, biotech-driven formulations, AI-enabled diagnostics and sustainable ingredients, using expert-led evaluation to vet scientific credibility. It aligns with internal venture activities and complements industry programs such as the Cosmetics Business Innovation Awards, which highlight measurable innovation.

For consumers, the fund aims to speed the path from lab breakthroughs to shelf, promising more evidence-based, tech-enabled skin-care options and greener value chains. By concentrating corporate capital on specific science and digital domains, Beiersdorf signaled a strategic shift toward research-driven product evolution.
