Skate Story is a narrative-driven skateboarding game developed by Sam Eng and published by Devolver Digital, scheduled for release on December 8, 2025, across PC, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2. The title casts players as a demon “made of glass and pain” who must skate through nine layers of the Underworld to reach and consume the Moon, blending traditional skate mechanics, including ollies, kickflips, and grinds, with supernatural objectives and environmental puzzles. A demo was made available as part of Steam Next Fest, and the Steam store page lists the game’s planned release and genre tags that include indie, adventure, action sports, and stylized presentation.

The publisher and developer have positioned Skate Story as a visually distinctive, atmospheric experience that emphasizes weight, motion, and ritualistic movement in its level design, with an emphasis on mastering skate techniques to progress through surreal, often hostile environments. Devolver Digital confirmed the game will be available day one on PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium, making it accessible to subscribers at launch; promotional materials and previews highlight the game’s unique aesthetic and narrative framing rather than conventional sports simulation goals.
