Architect Simara Melo was tapped by a family to transform their residence into a more modern design. Their home is located in Praia Brava, which is a beach that is in the south of Brazil in Itajaí, Santa Catarina. Melo takes on the renovation process of the home for a couple and their three children.
The renovation enhanced the comfort elements and functionality of the home. To meet new standards, the design unveils a new support kitchen and social areas to create a more spacious environment. On the upper floor, the main suite added a new bathroom and separate closet spaces for the partners. The main focus of the house is the potted olive tree in the main living room.
