Sometimes a moustache can be a man's claim to fame, or simply their calling card. Facial hair has proven to be important to historical male icons such as Charlie Chapman, Che Guevara and Albert Einstein.

Andrew Dobrow has shaved off the facial hair of five of the most famous mustachioed men in history using Photoshop. Would you recognize the famous male icons in the gallery without their moustaches?

Implications - Male identities are commonly created using facial hair as men are less likely to personalize their looks using jewelry as women do. Removing facial hair is an interesting way that one artist easily created a dynamic design by altering an existing product.
