The Shang Xia Fall 2022 Ready-to-Wear Set Embraces Minimalism

Yang Li has launched the 'Shang Xia Fall 2022' ready-to-wear collection in collaboration with the Chinese luxury brand, 'Shang Xia.' When designing this collection, Li chose to select a few simple features and hone these to perfection as opposed to trying to incorporate every possible trend in his design. The designer incorporated simple, muted colors on traditional clothing types, such as a sweater or a shirt, then added signature cut-shapes, such as squares and triangles. This gives the apparel an avant-garde feel without being over the top.

The dresses in the collection continue Li's trend of fixating on a few simple features. The dresses boast no more than two complementary colors per piece. However, the element that makes these dresses truly unique to Shang Xia's lineup is the cuts. The dresses have geometrical cuts throughout the center that are either colored differently or removed completely to reveal select portions of skin.
