British automaker Jaguar Land Rover has decided to collaborate with California-based self-driving car project Waymo to create an exceptional new series of self-driving electric SUVs that combine industry-leading self-driving vehicular technology from each company.
The end result is the I-Pace electric SUV, a vehicle that comes with a gobsmacking range of 386 kilometers as well as the ability to be charged to 80 percent capacity in only 40 minutes. With Waymo having already completed over five million miles of self-driving vehicle testing, the idea is to have a market-ready option available for when the time is right to invite public purchase.
While Waymo enjoys a great reputation in the self-driving car market thanks to its affiliation with Google, the fact of the matter is that Jaguar Land Rover has also been a pioneer with its fleet of self-driving test vehicles also making major inroads, making this a potentially unbeatable industry partnership in the newly burgeoning self-driving vehicle space.
