Lyft has recently announced a number of new safety features for the ride-hailing app. Three total safety features were added to the platform. The new safety features will make users more comfortable using the service.
The first of which is a 911 button for both riders and drivers in the app. When the button is pushed it will release the user's location to emergency services. Another one of the new safety features is called a 'Smart Trip Check-in,' and it flags rides that are significantly delayed or have other irregularities. The last safety feature is that all Lyft drivers will attend a safety course, which is run by the group RAINN. Additionally, riders must agree to a set of Lyft guidelines, and those who do not follow the guidelines could be removed.
