Sonos is making it easier to set the mood at home with new room-based playlist presets in its app. The feature lets users save favourite listening setups and bring them back with a single tap, whether they want quiet background music for dinner or a playlist playing throughout the house. It is rolling out today to updated apps and speakers.
A November dashboard update will add system status information and highlight devices that need attention. Sonos is also preparing a cloud-based Sonos Voice beta, arriving for Early Access users in the U.S. from November 6. The updated assistant is designed to understand less specific spoken requests than the existing local voice model, which will remain available for users who prefer it.
The updates add more flexibility to everyday listening, while giving users a choice between cloud-based and local voice control.
