The Japanese are making some darn cute robots to do some heavy duty cleaning. These bots are made to clean the public rest area toilets. Inside is everything needed to do even the nastiest of clean ups. Being Japanese in design, they're exceptional at multi-tasking too; they will listen to your conversation and give you basic traffic information.
Implications - Prototype robots have been developed to find ways to make tasks a little easier for people. However, this is often controversial considering how these bots may be considered as a replacement for actual human beings. With the emphasis on convenience and efficiency, robots may very well take over certain jobs. While it may make lives easier for certain individuals, companies must balance the use of robotics so that it doesn't edge out employees who need work.
