These new uniforms by Peru's anti riot police are truly awesome - they were seen parading yesterday for the first time and have been described as Judge Dread meets Batman.
The picture says it all.
Implications - Attire made for war zones and combat need to be tough, but they also need to look tough as well. Drawing inspiration from popular science fiction stories such as Robo Cop and Batman, military and law enforcement uniforms are looking increasingly aggressive. This hardcore look is mimicked in the fashion world as well as we're seeing a ton of leather, spikes, chains and studs. Being edgy is in vogue and businesses should capitalize on this with their products and marketing.
