The Body Shop Debuts Refillable Makeup Packaging with Recycled Aluminum

The Body Shop US is taking action against the global plastics crisis with the launch of its “refill revolution” for makeup products. The new collection includes Peptalk Lipstick in a refillable case made from 100% recycled aluminum. The collection is enriched with Community Fair Trade shea butter and comes in 20 shades, including nudes, reds, pinks, and purples.

The Body Shop's refill program has diverted 576 pounds of plastic from being wasted, equivalent to 12,749 bottles. The program prevented more than half a million plastic bottles from entering the environment in 2022 alone. Refill stations are available in 800 stores globally, with The Body Shop US offering refill stations in 50% of its stores.

The program's success is attributed to the younger generation's interest in sustainability, with sales of refillable products increasing by 65% in 2022. The Body Shop encourages every individual to help drive change, emphasizing that every bottle counts.
