From its Red Bull Air Race World Championship series to the record setting Red Bull Stratos project with Felix Baumgartner, Red Bull has always been at the forefront of sporting innovation. Now it’s entering the mobile world with Red Bull Playgrounds, “the worlds first and only social discovery app that gives people access to premium spots for sports and culture and enables users to be part of the world of Red Bull by doing and sharing what they love to do.”
Essentially a guide to the best places to skateboard, surf, ski/snowboard, play hockey, etc., Red Bull Playgrounds is the platform that allows users to share and discover their favorite sports and culture spots. Furthermore, users can follow their friends (Crew), and Red Bull Athletes to see where they’re at, and what spots are hot, open, closed, crowded, etc. Red Bull Playgrounds also offers users a “private following” option, allowing members in your crew to share a favorite spot with each other, while not opening it up to the public.
Red Bull Playgrounds currently has full browser support for your desktop or laptop computer. The Red Bull Playgrounds App is available for iPhone and Android, with support coming for Windows phones soon. While the mobile app is currently only available in Canada, Spain and Austria, users can expect to see Red Bull Playgrounds in many more countries in 2013. If you’re itching to find or create spots in countries without access to the app, log on to www.redbullplaygrounds.com; there are already a multitude of user-generated spots throughout the world!
