Recyclable Produce Packaging

Kp Expands Infinity with Recyclable Fruit Trays for Fresh Produce

Recyclable produce packaging is reshaping fresh food packaging by combining recyclable materials with designs that help reduce product damage and food waste throughout the supply chain. Klöckner Pentaplast's new kp Infinity® fruit tray range uses lightweight, mono-material expanded polypropylene (EPP) to protect fresh fruit while remaining fully recyclable. The trays are also designed for efficient stacking, transportation, and retail presentation, and feature clear recycling instructions to encourage proper consumer disposal. When paired with kp FlexiStretch® or kp FlexiFlow® films, the system provides an integrated packaging solution for fresh produce.

For food retailers and producers, recyclable packaging that also improves product protection can lower waste-related costs while supporting sustainability goals. Offering complete packaging systems from a single supplier also simplifies procurement and operational consistency across the supply chain. As regulatory requirements and consumer expectations around packaging continue to evolve, multifunctional recyclable solutions are likely to become a key differentiator in the fresh produce market.
