Disabled Mannequin Campaigns

The Pro Infirmis Realistic Mannequins Celebrate Bodies of All Kinds

An awareness-raising campaign by the disability advocacy organization Pro Infirmis uses realistic mannequins modeled after people with physical disabilities. 'Because who is perfect?' is intended to not only acknowledge, but celebrate the bodies of the disabled in an ableist society. Each mannequin is made in the image of a particular person in the public eye with a disability.

The heart-warming campaign was developed by the Swiss firm Jung von Matt/Limmat, Zurich. The realistic mannequins can be seen modeling clothes in stores across Switzerland, including WE Fashion, modissa and PKZ. An accompanying video shows the final products being unveiled to the disabled people they were modeled after. This campaign also serves to show that all body types are beautiful and can come in many forms.
