The Real Foodprint is a new feature on Chipotle's app and website that gives guests a look into the impact that can be made with responsibly sourced ingredients. Real Foodprint is touted as "the first radically transparent sustainability tracker of its kind" and it's designed to provide detailed impact data about ingredients. Using the tool, guests can see five key metrics: antibiotics avoided, organic land supported, gallons of water saved, improved soil health and less carbon in the atmosphere. The tracker compares the value of Chipotle's 53 real ingredients to their conventional counterparts.
To share how the Real Foodprint works, Chipotle teamed up with Bill Nye the Science Guy to show the environmental savings data of a burrito bowl with white rice, black beans, chicken, roasted chili-corn salsa and Queso Blanco.
