The 'Raspberry Pi Pico W' is the newest single-board computer on the market with an ultra-affordable price tag. The Pico W retails for only $6 USD each, up from the $4 USD of the Raspberry Pi Pico from 2021. The most notable difference between these two boards is the inclusion of wi-fi. Due to the Pico W having built-in wi-fi connectivity, it is much more versatile in terms of its applications.
The Raspberry Pi Pico W features an RP2040 Arm Cortex M0+ processor which delivers 133 MHz clock speeds across two cores. This single-board computer is suited for everything from small single-purpose robots up to large-scale automation systems, though its processing power is limited by its price tag. One notable aspect of the Pico W, though, is that it is identical in size to the Pico from 2021, meaning customers can replace their existing Pico to gain wi-fi connectivity, which makes a large portion of development far easier.
