New York-based designer Rachel Comey is infinitely cooler than me or most people I know; she used an indie band called IUD (that's right, named after the birth control) as the accompanying music to her Rachel Comey Spring 2012 show at New York Fashion Week. Relaxed silhouettes and lots of prints were standouts in the collection, and large-scale prints by artist Rosemarie Auberson and photographer Gus Powell adorned many of the pieces.
"I was trying to capture this moment when I have my hat or sunglasses on and am able to wander around the city and look inward," explained Comey. "I was kind of creating this character that is maybe exploring traveling, getting away, or in some way has stuff on her mind — she's thinking things through." The Rachel Comey Spring 2012 is certainly one to check out for those of you who are looking for pieces that are truly unique and quirky.
