Open Programming Documentary Series

'Hello World!' Explores Creative Options by Open Source Tools

'Hello World!' is a three piece programming documentary series that focuses on open source programming languages, namely Processing, Open Frameworks and Pure data.

People are increasingly grasping the importance of understanding coding, as well as the exponential advantages it brings to their creative work. The collaborators of this project explain that their documentaries "explore the role that ideas such as process, experimentation and algorithm play in this creative field featuring artists, designers and code enthusiasts."

Knowing provides empowerment to the artists. Humans are at point in time where they have to explain to each other the opportunities that are at their disposal, because we haven't all fully adapted to the rapid technological evolution just yet.

The areas these documentaries touch upon range from interactive large-scale installations to visuals for clubs, hacking, interaction design to screen-based works.

Open Source Programming Languages
As more people see the advantages of coding, utilizing open source programming languages like Processing, Open Frameworks, and Pure data can lead to new opportunities for collaboration and creativity.
Creative Coding
The exploratory nature of coding in the creative field, including process, experimentation, and algorithms can bring about new and innovative forms of art and design.
Interactive Art Installations
The diverse range of applications for open source programming languages include creating large-scale installations and screen-based works that encourage audience interaction and participation.

Who This Affects Most
