Pretty Boy Portraits

David Armstrong Captures Modern-Day Peter Pans

David Armstrong shot his latest series, '615 Jefferson Avenue,' at his Brooklyn home.

Armstrong's subjects don't have a singular, uniform look; in fact, there is a great deal of variety among them. However, one thing they have in common is a boyish charm that verges on ethereal.

To go one step further, Armstrong's subjects seem to exist in a vacuum, aloof and unaware of everyday struggles like getting to work on time or doing laundry. They are, for all intensive purposes, very much still "boys," shielded from the cares and concerns of the adult world in Armstrong's apartment. Decorated in gilded mirrors and floral wreaths, the space corresponds to the models' mysterious qualities. 615 Jefferenson Avenue might as well be Never Never Land.
