In the digital age, pregnancy apps have become commonplace for young parents to gain support and advice. As the medium is being perfected, it is also becoming better integrated in the health industry and this movement "shows how clinicians can innovate and harness digital technology to empower patients and their families."
One of these pregnancy apps is the Mom & Baby application, which was developed in collaboration between Sunita Sharma -- she is a consultant obstetrician from Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust -- and app developers Imagineear. In the process of designing, many midwives, doctors, mental health specialists, mothers, parents, and other experts were consulted to ensure optimal functionality.
The Mom & Baby app is now being adopted across the NHS, including Local Maternity Stsems across England.
