The 'Poimo' (Portable and Inflatable Mobility) portable eBike prototype was presented at the ACM CHI conference on Human Factors in Computing as an unlikely solution that aims to change perceptions of personal electric transportation equipment. Developed by a team at the Tokyo University, the bike has an inflatable design that can be simply inflated before being mounted to get around town on your own terms. The bike weighs in at 12 pounds and, once mounted, requires the user to lean the unit to steer while keeping their feet planted on the base plates.
The 'Poimo' portable eBike prototype maintains a strong design that could be easily stored when not in use to save space in living spaces of offices.
