PhonePe Launches a New Income Tax Payment Feature for its Customers

PhonePe, an Indian fintech company, has introduced a new income tax payment feature in collaboration with digital B2B payments service provider PayMate. This feature allows individuals and businesses to conveniently pay self-assessment and advance tax directly from the PhonePe app, eliminating the need for a separate login.

PhonePe aims to offer an alternative and more efficient method for tax filing while also alleviating the load on the tax website. By partnering with PayMate, PhonePe has enabled users to make income tax payments using either a credit card or UPI (Unified Payments Interface).

After payment has been completed, users will receive a Unique Transaction Reference (UTR) number as proof of their tax payment. The UTR number serves as a unique identifier for the transaction and confirms that the payment has been successfully processed.
