Shelf-Stable Smoothie Pouches

Nestle Expands Outshine Brand Beyond The Freezer Aisle

Nestle has announced that it will be expanding its Outshine brand into the shelf-stable category with the launch of new yogurt and fruit smoothie pouches.

Each pouch will consist of non-fat yogurt and a specific fruit flavor. Variations will include peach strawberry, blueberry pear, strawberry coconut, and pear vanilla. In addition, each pouch will contain less than 10 grams of sugar while boasting an impressively clean label. Every flavor contains no added sugar, no artificial coloring, non-GMO ingredients, and no artificial flavors.

This is Outshine's first foray beyond the freezer aisle, having only sold frozen fruit bars and ice cream-based products up until this point. “I believe these fruit and yogurt smoothies are one of our biggest innovations in years. We launch a lot of new products, but to enter a really large category with a beloved brand is novel for us," said Doug Munk, senior director of new business ventures at Nestle.
