Since fair trade became known -- and needed due to global capitalism -- as a concept and a movement, various innovations have come to light, included fair trade flowers, offered by One World Flowers. Indeed, the most popular exports, when it comes to fair trade, are food goods like coffee, cocoa and bananas, while another huge market is fashion.
One World Flowers is a United States-only delivery service that has a niche in floral farms in Ecuador. "For every order, One World Flowers pays a 10% Fair Trade Premium back into a workers’ fund located on the farms we work with," the social business writes on its website. "Workers organize democratically and vote on how to use these funds to improve living conditions and end poverty in their communities."
