This infographic is work of the good people at the solar-centric company One Block Off the Grid, and it was created to further deter people from using coal as an energy source. One Block Off the Grid offers group discounts to communities looking to convert neighborhoods to the magic of solar energy. The Rejected Ad Campaigns of the Coal Industry infographic displays a series of hilarious faux mock-ups trying desperately to glamorize coal.

Appealing to our common sense, these humorously fake ads demonstrate how difficult it is to find the bright side of burning fossil fuels. Don Draper himself would find himself in a creative pickle trying to make coal look good. Sad attempts to make it look sexy, lucrative and safe further illustrate our need for a more sustainable alternative source of energy.

Take a cue from this infographic and ban those noxious fumes air-polluting fumes with the help of One Block Off the Grid.
