AI Radio Hosts

OFF Radio Krakow Reaches Younger Listeners with Virtual Personas

Weeks after letting its team of journalists go, OFF Radio Krakow relaunched with a first-of-its-kind experiment replacing staff with virtual characters created by AI. With the aim of reaching younger listeners interested in cultural, art and social issues, the station shares the voices of three avatars. While Jakub "Kuba" Zielinski is described as an enthusiast in sound technology and takes listeners on a journey that fuses classics like Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin with modern electronic artists, Emilia "Emi" Nowak is a pop culture expert who is passionate about music, film and fashion.

OFF Radio Krakow station head Marcin Pulit asks, "Is artificial intelligence more of an opportunity or a threat to media, radio and journalism? We will seek answers to this question."
