Hybrid Horror Video Games

Hideo Kojima and Jordan Peele Announced OD at the 2023 Game Awards

Japanese game developer Hideo Kojima is creating a hybrid video game and film project called OD (Overdose) with famed film director Jordan Peele and other legendary creators. Actors like Sophia Lillis, Hunter Schafer and Udo Kier will also have a part to play in the development of the project, which promises to be unlike anything video game players have ever seen before.

At the 2023 Game Awards, Kojima described this upcoming project as a “new form of media," describing it as not only a game but also a movie. Although many details about the game have yet to be shared, the teaser trailer for OD revealed a phonetic pangram eerily repeated over and over by characters.
