Winter Running Shoes

Arc'teryx Launched the Norvan Nivalis for Cold-Weather Athletes

Arc'teryx has introduced the Norvan Nivalis, a specialized running shoe engineered for winter conditions that expands the brand's technical Norvan franchise. The shoe combines a GORE-TEX Invisible Fit upper with an integrated over-ankle gaiter system, creating a weatherproof barrier against snow, rain, and trail debris while maintaining the breathability runners need during intense cold-weather training.

The Norvan Nivalis addresses the gap between traditional trail runners and winter boots through its technical construction. A single-pull lacing system enables quick adjustments with gloved hands, while the Vibram Megagrip outsole with LITEBASE technology delivers lightweight traction through custom lug patterns optimized for mud and snow. The shoe's compatibility with winter running spikes adds versatility for athletes who encounter ice, positioning it as a purpose-built solution for year-round mountain training rather than a seasonal compromise.

The Norvan Nivalis will be available starting Thursday, September 4th.
