The Nike Football Nouveaux collection is unlike any soccer sportswear people have set their eyes on before. Dark and edgy with a sense of glamor thrown into the mix, the pieces could easily be considered more as everyday pieces than they are for a specific sport. Part of NikeLab's Summer of Sport line, the Nike Football Nouveaux collection is meant to provide an alternative to the typically cheerfully colorful designs usually put on the market.
Created with the help of Balmain’s designer Olivier Rousteing, the Nike Football Nouveaux collection is comprised of both footwear and apparel. In spite of its luxe appeal, Jarrett Reynolds, NikeLab Senior Apparel Design Director, says, "At every design review, [Rousteing would] ask, ‘Would a football player really wear that?’ That question helped keep the collection rooted in sport.”
