This New Vans Classic Slip-On Comes from a Collaboration with ACU
Riley von Niessen — October 19, 2016 — Fashion
ACU, a popular footwear retailer that's based in Shanghai, helped to design a new Vans Classic Slip-On that draws from elements of the Chinese city's street culture.
In order to do this, ACU adds on accents that have a high level of relevancy for those who call Shanghai home -- supplying it with bits of fur, which is reportedly "a winter delicacy" there. The bottoms of the soles are meanwhile marked by blue and white stripes -- a design that's also included subtly on the upper of the new Vans Classic Slip-Ons as well.
In addition to this, the uppers are constructed of a double layer of colored material -- meaning that after many wears, the sneakers will turn from a dark green to a vibrant tone of orange.
