What you see here is the new new Mercedes-Benz Popemobile. That's right, the Catholic Church's highest official just got a new ride. Pope Benedict XVI's new car is a Mercedes M-Class SUV specially modified for his holiness. The new Popemobile includes the a now-iconic bubble made of bulletproof glass and a chair that looks ridiculously comfortable. Size-wise, the Pope's new ride is slightly smaller than what he usually cruises around in.

Mercedes is keeping mum on its holiest SUV, but it's safe to say that the car is probably powered by a diesel engine. The Pontiff campaigned for an electric car, but that idea was shot down due to practical limitations and safety reasons. Mercedes' latest offering to the Vatican is merely more of the same. The Silver Arrow has been supplying the religious leader with cars for 80 years.
