The Nemo's Garden Project Features Plants Being Grown Underwater

Scuba diving company owner Sergio Gamberini and his son Luca are working on a project, dubbed Nemo's Garden, that features plants being grown underwater. You've heard of plants being grown in creative environments such as inside skyscrapers and deep underground, but this one takes the cake for peculiarity and promise. The plants will be grown inside biospheres with capacities ranging from six to nine meters, and will be located off the tourist beaches of Northern Italy.

The Nemo's Garden project will help grow plants in a region that is notoriously poor for farming due to high population density, rocky terrain and periodic floods.

The underwater gardening project is being livestreamed via UStream, with live underwater broadcasts also set to be launched to describe the latest progress in this audacious and fascinating project.
