Abnormal heart rhythms, known as atrial fibrillation, are one of the leading causes of strokes but can oftentimes go undetected, which is something this necklace ECG is designed to change.

The necklace works by being worn at all times by those who are at risk of atrial fibrillation and can be used periodically to track the heart. This is done by simply positioning the necklace pendant over the chest or in their palm for 30 seconds to capture a reading.

The necklace ECG has been developed by a team of researchers at the University of Eastern Finland and could help with the early detection of problems before they develop into more serious health issues for a person.
