Cross-Border Cricket Tournaments

NCL GT20 Canada Takes Its 2026 Tournament to the Caribbean

NCL GT20 Canada is expanding cross-border cricket tournaments by staging its 2026 edition in St. Vincent and the Grenadines before returning to Canada in 2027. The temporary Caribbean edition will bring Canadian and emerging North American players together with established Caribbean and international cricketers. Cricket Canada and Cricket West Indies will collaborate on governance and regulatory coordination, while the tournament aims to create longer-term player exchanges and development pathways between the two regions.

For NCL GT20, temporarily moving the tournament creates opportunities to reach Caribbean cricket audiences while strengthening its connections with players, governing bodies and commercial partners. The event can also generate tourism and fan activity for St. Vincent and the Grenadines during its October-November run. Establishing these relationships before returning to Canada could support future sponsorships, player recruitment and cross-regional programming, giving the tournament a broader commercial and developmental footprint across the Americas.
